TBC 3rd Anniversary Contest
No doubt
everyone is well aware that this coming July is a big event here at
TBC. If the release of Half-Blood Prince wasn't enough, then
our
Countdown should have more than given it away by now. ;)
But of course, it's not all about the book - we're also gearing up
for our third anniversary celebration, which comes just a few days
later than the mythical tome. So, we felt it was important to do
something to commemorate this event, too.
After all, the vast majority of fan sites don't make it to anywhere
near three years, for one reason and another, so it's quite a
big milestone for us to hit. In order to celebrate this
particular event, we're holding another competition to design a
product for the TBC Shop - a mug this time, rather than
another t-shirt. Fancy drinking your morning coffee out of a
mug you designed for us? Well, here's your chance.
What we're
looking for this time is very similar to the
T-Shirt Contest we ran back in 2004 - some kind of picture that
represents TBC, which will be placed on a new mug for the Shop,
replacing the current 'GTDE Mug' that is on sale. We're pretty
much giving free rein as to what you want to put on it, but the
picture must be clearly linked to the site - no generic art
with a TBC logo attached, please. There's always plenty to
draw - the TBC laboratory working on the MARVOLO Mk. 3, the crazy
parties in the TBC Mansion, the never-ending sleuthing in the Clue
games or the currently dry-docked S.S. Rosewood, to name but a few.
There are a few rules that your image must adhere to, which are
listed below, but apart from that, your path is clear to let your
imagination and talent run riot.
The usual
rules apply - any registered member can enter, so lurkers need to
think about clicking here sometime in the near future. Judging
will take place through an open poll on the forums, which is why you
have to be registered - only fair that all entrants get to have
their say, after all. Entries should be sent to TBC's usual
Submissions address, with 'Anniversary Contest Entry' as the
subject. They must be received before midnight
(Board Time/Central US) on Saturday 2nd July. Good luck to
all, and we hope to see your entries soon!
CONTEST GUIDELINES
The guidelines
for this contest are simple - your entry must depict or represent
the Cafe in some way. This can mean a picture of something
that has happened at the Cafe, some of it's members, or some of the
things that make the Cafe so popular. Basically, anything
goes, as long as you could reasonably link it to a Cafe-based
product.
In addition to
this, entries obviously must follow the rules and guidelines below.
Also, we recommend you place some kind of signature or identifying
mark on your picture, to identify you as the artist.
CONTEST RULES
1. The closing date for the contest is Saturday 2nd July, 2005.
Entries must be received
before midnight on that day. (Board time/Central US)
2. Entry is open to anyone who is a registered member of the TBC
forums, and you may register in order to enter the contest if you
are not currently a member.
3. The design you submit must follow the Image Guidelines below to
be eligible, as well as the usual
Submission Guidelines for artwork.
4. You may enter the contest as many times as you like, but remember
we are looking for quality, not quantity.
5. The winner of the contest will have to be willing to share
copyright with TBC, in order for the product to be made and sold.
(This is a requirement of CafePress.) We will make sure that
you are given full credit as the artist, and recommend putting a
discreet signature somewhere on your image.
6. Judging will commence on Sunday 3rd July, 2005, and will
be decided by an open vote of TBC members.
7. All entries will be placed in the TBC Archive after the contest
is over, unless specifically requested otherwise.
Image Guidelines
(Please note: These are part of Cafe Press'
User Agreement. Please read through this agreement,
just to be certain there are no problems later.)
1. The image should measure no more than 3" x 8.31", with a
resolution of 200 dpi.
2. Your image should be submitted in either .jpg or .png
format.
3. Images must not use any copyrighted or commercial
characters.
4. Your pictures cannot be sexually suggestive, racist or
abusive.
5. Entries cannot depict the use of alcohol, drugs or
cigarettes.
6. Obviously, all images must be entirely your own work.
