TBC T-Shirt Contest 2004

Okay, by now many of you will have noticed the link that has recently appeared at the top of the TBC boards, pointing you in the direction of The TBC Shop. We've set up the TBC Shop with Cafe Press, to sell a variety of TBC Merchandise to our adoring public. wink.gif The store has been open for a few days now, so go on over and take a look. You can even see our first item - a TBC Crew White T-Shirt, featuring the artwork of our very own GryffinRose!

Of course, we want to have much more than one item available in the shop. World Domination is not achieved with one T-Shirt, no matter how spiffy. So, we are looking to you, our much-loved members, to design another T-Shirt to be sold in the TBC Shop. Everyone who is signed up on the boards is eligible to enter the contest, so if you're not Registered, then go and do so now! Of course, if you're reading this, chances are you're signed up already, so no worries there. smile.gif

The goal of the contest is to make a picture which reflects TBC, either by depicting something that has happened on the boards, or something from the site itself. So, you might want to draw the adventures of the S.S. Rosewood, a picture of the GTDE Mansion, or - if you're brave - something to do with last year's Scumbridge Invasion. It's entirely up to you, as long as it's clearly TBC-related. Entries should be sent to TBC's usual Submissions address, with 'T-Shirt Contest Entry' as the subject. They must be recieved before midnight (Board Time/Central US) on Sunday 29th February.

When the contest is over, all the entries will be put to a members' vote on the boards, to determine the winner. It will be conducted using poll threads, so everyone will have one vote, including those entering the contest. If there are more than 10 entries, there will be more than one round of voting, to narrow the field down to a final 10. After that, the winner will be contacted one of the TBC Crew, to make sure they agree to having their picture used for a T-Shirt. However, all of the entries will be added to a section of TBC's FanArt archive, so none of them will go to waste.

There are, unfortunately, a few more rules than that. Cafe Press also have a few rules of their own, which we have to abide by, too. So here are the full rules for the contest, along with the guidelines for the image. As you might expect, any entry found to be in breach of these rules will be eliminated from the contest. Please read these, and Cafe Press' User Agreement, to make sure your entry can be used.

CONTEST RULES
1. The closing date for the contest is Sunday, February 29th, 2004.  Entries must be received before midnight on that day.  (Board time/Central US)
2. The design you submit must follow the Image Guidelines below to be eligible.
3. You may enter the contest as many times as you like, but remember we are looking for quality, not quantity.
4. The winning design will be chosen by voting on the TBC Message Boards, after the contest has ended.
5. The winner of the contest will have to be willing to share copyright with TBC, so that the t-shirts can be made and sold.  We will make sure that you are given full credit as the artist, and recommend putting a discreet signature somewhere on your image.
6. All designs will be placed in a section of the TBC FanArt archive after the contest is over, unless you specifically ask for it not to be included.

IMAGE GUIDELINES

(Please note: Guidelines 1-5 are part of Cafe Press' User Agreement.  Please read through this agreement, just to be certain there are no problems later.)

1. The image should measure no more than 10" x 8", with a resolution no greater than 300 dpi, and no lower than 100 dpi.
2. Your image should be submitted in either .jpg or .png format.
3. Images must not use any copyrighted or commercial characters.
4. Your pictures cannot be sexually suggestive, racist or abusive.
5. Entries cannot depict the use of alcohol, drugs or cigarettes.
6. Obviously, all images must be entirely your own work.
7. The image should include something that is obviously related to TBC, either something from the message boards, or the site itself.
8. You can submit either a design for just the front of the shirt, or designs for the front and back.  If you design the front only, the back will carry the TBC logo and address.
